I’m an Actor

Since graduating NYU Tisch with a BFA in theater, I’ve been lucky to work in every medium New York City has to offer. I am frequently performing in off-off Broadway and downtown theater, as well as filming commercials, TV, and the occasional film.

Grace is adept with physical work, and the fight scenes are thrilling in a multitude of ways. The choreography is precise and compelling, and its performance is energetic and very believable.

Boosting the strength of this production is its cast, which – under the director of Emily Hartford – does a very fine job at bringing this play to life. In addition to her work as a writer, Ms. Grace also proves to be a strong performer, as she brings to life her character of Tara Rose.

Sarah Elizabeth Grace also gives a small but hilarious performance as the Sheriff's under-appreciated secretary.

I’m a Writer

As a teenager, I’d write "Sarah the Vampire Slayer" fan fiction in my math notebooks during class, wanting to explore my complicated love affair with Spike rather than learn quadratic theory.

I focused on acting through college, but my writing bug came back in my mid-twenties. My first written project - a one-woman show called Mental Nudity - was produced and performed at Standard Toykraft and the PIT Underground in 2013.

My playwriting began soon after and became sort of an addiction, with my plays More (2017), Implied Consent (2018), and The Regime is Female (2019) being written and produced in quick succession via Badass Lady Productions. My ten-minute play Crush was featured in the Alternative Theater Company’s #MeToo Series in late 2018.

I’ve also made short films! You can watch the Zoom-created film called The Process on YouTube today. I wrote, directed, and starred in a pandemic short called Period Piece, an absurdist send-up to my battle with endometriosis. It was screened at the Sick n Wrong film festival and Bridgeport Film Festival in 2022.

My play I Won’t Be That Person was published in Chaotic Merge Magazine in spring of 2023.

I wrote and star in a fictional podcast series called Nora’s Dragon which you can listen to on all podcast platforms beginning in October of 2023.

I've also written several non-fiction articles for online publications including The Huffington Post, under the pseudonym Grace Kemeny.

I run Badass Lady Productions

My first full-length, multi-character play More had its production debut at The Secret Theater's UNFringed Theater Festival the summer of 2017. More was an 85 minute slice of life about addiction, and how it manifests outside of drugs and alcohol. The play was revived in March of 2018 for Emerging Artist Theatre's New Works Series.

Quickly on the heels of More came Implied Consent. Implied Consent had its world premiere at the Access Theater in October 2018, following a workshop at Playwrights Horizons Downtown. The two-act play is a time-traveling feminist piece about the “grey area”, without villainizing or victimizing any gender. It received positive reviews and audiences loved it.

Most recently, The Regime is Female ran November 1 - 17, 2019 at The Tank. A tight sci-fi piece full of punk music, stunts, that answered the question: “What if women ruled the world?” It was well-received and provoked thoughts in critics and audiences alike.
